The makers of Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi starrer Bhool Chuk Maaf made a last-minute shift by skipping the theatrical release of the film and releasing it directly to OTT. Set to have a theatrical release earlier on May 9, the comedy-drama will now premiere on Amazon Prime Video on May 16.

“In light of recent events and the heightened security drills across the nation, we at Maddock Films and Amazon MGM Studios have decided to bring our family entertainer, Bhool Chuk Maaf, directly to your homes on May 16 — only on Prime Video, worldwide,” the statement mentioned. It added that “While we were eagerly looking forward to celebrating this film with you in theatres, the spirit of the nation comes first. JAI HIND”.
Directed by Karan Sharma, Bhool Chuk Maaf has an ensemble cast including Seema Pahwa, Sanjay Mishra, Raghubir Yadav, and Zakir Hussain. The decision to bring the film directly to OTT instead of theaters comes because of the increasing tensions between India and Pakistan.
