Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s highly awaited action thriller King is getting bigger and bigger. As per the recent reports, Anil Kapoor has joined the cast of King. The action-packed entertainer stars Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles, while Abhishek Bachchan, Suhana Khan, Arshad Warsi, and Abhay Verma will be seen in key roles.
“Shah Rukh Khan plays an assassin in King, Anil Kapoor will be seen as his handler. There were multiple actors considered for the part, but the team amicably feels that Anil Kapoor suits the role to the T. Anil is also excited to collaborate with Shah Rukh Khan on this mega-budget actioner,” according to the report of Pinkvilla.
The source also added that the film is expected to release in the window of October to December 2026. The source said that “The first schedule kicks off around May 20 in Mumbai, followed by an international leg in Europe. The film has been written keeping the theatrical sensibilities of the modern audience in mind, and presents Shah Rukh Khan like never before – raw, and rooted. The action sequences too are designed balancing style with raw-ness”.
Helmed by Siddharth Anand, who has given blockbusters like Pathaan and War, King marks the second collaboration between Anil Kapoor and Siddharth Anand after Fighter. Shah Rukh Khan and Anil Kapoor will be seen together after more than three decades.
