Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the courtroom drama film is based on the tragic events of Jallianwala Bagh. Originally released on 18 April in theaters, Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh is a spiritual sequel to Akshay Kumar’s 2019 release, Kesari. The film is based on the book The Case That Shook the Empire.
The historical courtroom drama was produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films. Kesari 2 is based on the life story of C. Sankaran Nair, an Indian advocate who challenged the British crown in court after the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
