At the 71st National Film Awards ceremony at New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan, the winners are honored with awards in the presence of the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. The king of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, wins his first National Film Award in his career span of over 30 years.
Shah Rukh Khan has won the National Award in the Best Actor category for Jawan. The 59-year-old actor shared the award with Vikrant Massey, who won it for his stellar performance in 12th Fail. The Pathaan actor has been contributing to Indian cinema for more than 30 years, giving audiences some of the finest films over his career.
“What a journey it’s been @iamsrk. Congratulations on winning the National Award!!! So deserving… it’s a result of your years of hardwork and dedication. Now I’m designing a special mantle for this award,” Shah Rukh Khan’s wife and Red Chillies Entertainment co-owner Gauri Khan tweeted.
Other winning celebrities included Rani Mukerji for Best Actress in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway, Mohanlal for the Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award, and 12th Fail as Best Feature Film. The list of winners of the National Film Award was announced in August, while the ceremony was held today at Vigyan Bhawan.
