HMS Morris Return with Dreamlike New Single ‘Glue’ Ahead of Fourth Album SACI HACS

HMS Morris, an alt-indie group from Cardiff, are returning with new music after a three-year break since the release of their last studio album. The band has now issued their latest single, “Glue”, giving their fans a heartfelt glimpse of the fourth studio album they are set to release, SACI HACS, on October 30, 2026, via Bubblewrap Collective.

Because they have a reputation for breaking creative boundaries, HMS Morris have earned a name for themselves through music that doesn’t easily fit into just one genre. This new single follows in that tradition by blending nostalgic melodies with imaginative songwriting to produce an experience which seems both intimate and cinematic.

“Glue” is about the longing we feel for people, stories, and the imagined versions of life which exist only in our minds. It considers how memories and fantasies can sometimes seem almost tangible, even though we know we can never actually keep them. The song combines warmth and melancholy, using organ melodies with a vintage feel together with guitars similar to those found on classic emo records and at the same time smoothly shifting between different rhythms to add depth to its emotional journey.

The single is the first preview of SACI HACS, an album which was recorded in the band’s home studio in Cardiff as well as in an underground garage in Johnstown. Instead of adhering to typical themes, the record centres on the small habits, personal rituals and unconventional life hacks that assist people in coping with modern life; it addresses ways of overcoming self-doubt and discovering humour in the everyday difficulties, embracing imperfection and promoting the notion that there is no universal formula for happiness or success.

HMS Morris are still expanding the particular character of their music by combining live instruments with electronic textures, dramatic melodies and a playful use of the orchestra. The outcome is a series of songs which moves easily among art-rock, electro-pop and experimental indie, all while retaining the band’s clear and recognizable identity.

Since they came out of Cardiff’s lively independent music scene, HMS Morris have become one of the leading groups on Bubblewrap Collective, a well-regarded Welsh label which has also worked with artists such as Georgia Ruth, The Gentle Good and Carwyn Ellis. Because of their bold manner they have received praise from music critics, the various publications having described their music as innovative, theatrical and in a refreshingly difficult-to-categorise way.

After the launch of “Glue” the band will carry out a number of live gigs throughout the UK and Europe. These will include performances as support for Pictish Trail in Swansea, a joint October tour with the Catalan band Remei de ca la Fresca, appearances at festivals in Spain and north Wales, and will end with the official SACI HACS album launch concert in Cardiff this November.

The HMS Morris are famous not only for their music but also for their readiness to blur the boundary between performance art, experimental pop and theatrical storytelling. Instead of going along with mainstream trends, the Welsh group has always pursued creative freedom, ensuring that each of their releases seems unpredictable and distinctly their own.

The fact that HMS Morris follows in the footsteps of “Glue” in setting the tone for SACI HACS means that the band are well placed to carry on this path, providing listeners with yet another imaginative set of songs in which emotion, curiosity and individuality are given priority over convention.
