With a distinct visual style and a modern pop-rock sound, rising multi-hyphenate Ava Rivello is carving out her own space in digital culture. Striking a delicate balance between editorial-grade fashion and raw, emotional storytelling, the recent graduate refuses to be boxed in by temporary trends. Instead, she draws inspiration from early 2000s icons like Avril Lavigne and the sonic energy of bands like Paramore to craft an identity that is entirely her own.
In this exclusive interview with Blackbird News, Ava opens up about her unique, grunge-alternative aesthetic, how she maintains genuine authenticity online, and what lies ahead for her music. From balancing a chaotic schedule to embracing a fearless new chapter of creative independence, Ava proves that the most powerful thing an artist can wear is their own individuality.
Welcome to Blackbird News, Ava! You’re becoming one of the most exciting young names blending music, fashion, and digital culture – how has this journey been for you so far?
It’s definitely been a journey of growth. There have been challenges, setbacks, and a lot of learning along the way, but I think those experiences have shaped me into the person and artist I am today. I’ve had opportunities to explore different creative worlds, from fashion and social media, to music. Each one has taught me something valuable. Right now, I feel like I’m stepping into a new chapter where all of those experiences are helping me build a stronger artistic identity.
Your visual aesthetic feels very editorial and fashion-forward. How would you define the Ava Rivello style in three words?
Unique, Grunge and alternative – I’ve never been someone who likes to fit into a specific box. I enjoy mixing pieces that reflect my mood rather than what’s currently trending. Fashion is another form of storytelling for me, so I like creating looks that feel authentic instead of predictable.
Fashion and music often go hand in hand in your content. Which inspires you more creatively – the sound or the look?
It really depends on the project, but most of the time the look inspires the music. Music creates an emotion, and then I build a visual world around that feeling and hope others connect to the visual.

You’ve built a strong social media presence while still maintaining authenticity. What’s your approach to creating content that feels real but still visually polished?
I think authenticity and creativity can exist together. I put effort into creating content that looks good, but I never want it to feel manufactured. If I’m posting something, it still has to feel like me. I’d rather share something genuine that connects with people than chase every trend just because it’s popular or chase the likes.
Is there a particular fashion era, celebrity, or designer that heavily influences your current aesthetic?
I’ve always loved the early 2000s era because it felt experimental and fearless. Artists like Avril Lavigne inspired me because she embraced individuality and wasn’t afraid to stand out. I also love pulling inspiration from different places rather than following one specific person or trend. The best outfits are the ones that feel uniquely yours.
Your music carries a modern pop-rock edge with emotional storytelling. What artists or bands have had the biggest influence on your sound growing up?
My influences come from all over the place. Artists like Paramore, Pierce The Veil, Staind, The Backseat Lovers, and Bruno Mars have all inspired me in different ways. I love artists who make you feel something when you listen to their music. Whether it’s a powerful vocal performance, incredible songwriting, or emotional honesty, I think I’ve taken little pieces of inspiration from many different genres and artists.
Trends move incredibly fast. How do you stay creatively fresh without losing your individuality?
I think the key is not chasing every trend. Trends are fun, but they come and go. If you spend all your energy trying to keep up, you can lose what makes you unique. I pay attention to what’s happening around me, but I always filter it through my own style and perspective. I want people to recognize my work because it feels like me, not because it looks like everyone else’s.
From recording music to creating content and modeling, your schedule must be intense. What does a typical “day in the life” of Ava Rivello actually look like?
Lately it’s been a mix of finishing high school, planning for the future, creating content, and working on music whenever I can. A lot of people only see the final result online, but there are so many hours spent writing, practicing, filming, editing, and preparing behind the scenes. Now that I’m graduating, I’m excited to dedicate even more time to music, performing, and growing as an artist. But honestly, I’m just a typical teenager who likes to live my life first and not have social media define who I am.

Blackbird News is all about fashion, entertainment, and lifestyle curated for the now – so what are some current fashion, beauty, or lifestyle trends you’re personally loving right now?
I’ve always loved bandanas and layering outfits because they let you personalize your look and make it your own. I’m also really enjoying the shift toward people expressing their individuality instead of trying to dress exactly the same. The most interesting trend to me right now is seeing people become more confident in creating their own style rather than following a formula.
Finally, with upcoming releases and growing global attention, what can fans expect next from Ava Rivello in 2026?
I’m not sure I have a lot of ‘fans’ yet, but people can definitely expect more music, more behind-the-scenes moments, and a closer look at my creative process. I’m excited to share covers, new original songs, and hopefully spend more time performing live. My goal this year is to keep growing not just as an artist, but as a person while bringing people along the journey. I don’t know exactly but we’ll see what happens!
