Mark Kross is no stranger to being a headliner, a true veteran in the music game. Over the span of his career, he has DJ’d for R&B & Hip Hop’s most important performers of our time including Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Trey Songz, Ludacris, Jeremiah, Lloyd Banks, Lloyd, Game, Travie McCoy, Naughty By Nature, Chingy, Shaggy, Cassidy, David Banner, Boyz II Men, Bone Thugs & Harmony, Tha Outlawz, Tha Dogg Pound, Sean Kingston, Lil Kim, Mario, Sisqo (Dru Hill), Dj Rectangle, Dj JNice, Dj Infamous (Ludacris’ DJ), Dj Mark Da Spot, Dj Baby Drew (Chris Browns DJ) & many more.

After utilizing his talents and expertise in creating perfect mashups for huge crowds, clubs and festivals he truly made a name for himself as Australia’s most loved DJ.

In 2020 we got better acquainted with him on the world’s largest growing social media app, Tik Tok. On Tik Tok he took the world by storm when he re-created his infamous remixes and revolutionized music by infusing the most popular western and eastern sounds.

We are honoured to interview him today.

What first got you into music?
I got into music at 15 with the influence of my brother who was a DJing around Sydney. He would leave his Vinyls & Turntables at home for me to jam after school and practice beatmatching.

Who inspired you to make music?
The person initially telling me to make music, was myself, but the encouragement came from my artist friend G-Wizard.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?
The sound I’ve been creating is blend of EDM & Reggaeton. However, my roots stem from Hip Hop & RnB so you’ll start hearing a bit more of a unique blend the more and more I put out music.

What is your creative process like?
My creative process is basically fondling around with keys and melodies till something sounds good, then add the rhythm, fillers, fx etc. BUT, I always tell myself at the beginning what mood I want to set.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?
A big inspiration with my EDM/Reggaeton sound was DJ Snake. ‘Mi Amor’ my single was inspired by his single ‘Magenta Riddim’. He’s definitely someone I’d love to collaborate with.

How did you get started on Tik Tok?

I got started on TikTok in Feb 2020. My best friend ‘Pedrocuz’ had been hounding me to get on it, so I did. I didn’t really have any direction for TikTok up until recently when I realised my famous Remixes were doing so well.

If you could open for any artist which one would it be?
I know I said ‘DJ Snake’ I’d love to collaborate with, but if it was any artist, in the world, to open for…. it would have to be the GOAT… EMINEM.

We are excited to see what he does next as a DJ, Performer and Creator.
