Dabboo Ratnani, a renowned Indian fashion photographer, best known for his annual calendar that has become a highly remarkable showbiz event in India since its first publication in 1999.
Dabboo is the cover photographer of almost all the leading magazines, which include, ”Cosmopolitan”, ”Elle”, ”Femina”, ”Filmfare”, ”Hi Blitz” , ”Ok India”, ”The Man”, “Better Homes and Garden” and ”Verve”. In the year 2006, he was even in the jury of the Miss India contest. Most of Dabboo’s work is used for film advertising and publicity campaigns.

And now celebrity photographer Dabboo Ratnani’s is trending for its new 2020 calendar’s photoshoot that recently took place with actors like Kiara Advani, Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar debuting in the elite club. While most actors have sizzled in the photoshoot, Kiara Advani, Sunny Leone and Bhumi Pednekar seem to have turned the temperature up by baring it all for the calendar.
Yes, most of us work really hard to achieve something but only a few are able to achieve. Same is the case of Dabboo also. The celebrity photographer is able to brand himself the right way amidst huge competition in the industry.
What do you think – is it just his work or something else that speaks for him?
Yes, besides his work, it is his branding strategies that make him stand out amidst competition. He is the one who came up with the idea of an annual calendar. An absolutely outside the box idea that made him a trendsetter in the industry.
He is the one who has helped create a trend of collectable celebrity calendars in India, after the fashion of the Pirelli Calendar. Over the years top Bollywood stars have appeared on his calendar, including Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Arjun Rampal, Bipasha Basu and Shahrukh Khan. His unique ideology and outside the box strategies probably helped him to trend all the time and set the trend for others as well!
