Monica Barbaro brought modern glamour to the BFI London Film Festival in a custom metallic Dior dress. The actress attended the event to celebrate her film Artificial, choosing a high-shine design that stood out for its reflective finish, clean silhouette and exceptionally thin shoulder straps.
The blue metallic midi dress featured a fitted bodice with a simple square neckline. Two delicate straps rested over her shoulders, creating a striking contrast with the luminous fabric. The dress followed her figure through the bodice before flowing into a relaxed skirt, finished with a subtle ruffle along the hem.
The reflective material was the outfit’s highlight, catching the light as Barbaro posed for photos and later appeared onstage alongside Ike Barinholtz. Its liquid-like sheen gave the classic midi silhouette a contemporary red-carpet feel without elaborate embellishments.
Barbaro also shared her designer choice on Instagram, revealing that the dress was Dior and referencing the costume designer of Artificial. She completed the ensemble with metallic silver Lidia mules by Paris Texas, extending the shimmering theme to her footwear.

For jewellery, the actress chose 18K white gold and diamond scatter climber earrings from Ananya Fine Jewellery. The delicate sparkle complemented the dress while keeping the overall styling balanced. She avoided too many accessories, letting the metallic design remain the centre of attention.
Her beauty look followed the same understated approach. Barbaro wore her brunette hair in loose waves with a centre part, paired with rosy cheeks, defined lashes and a soft pink lip. The natural finish complemented the dress’s bold, reflective surface.
The outfit demonstrated how a relatively simple silhouette can make a strong statement through fabric and construction alone. The fitted bodice, flowing skirt and barely-there straps kept the design elegant, while the metallic blue finish brought the drama expected of a film festival appearance.
At the BFI London Film Festival, Monica Barbaro’s custom Dior look offered a polished take on eveningwear, combining a classic midi shape with a striking modern finish.
