Misty Blanco: The word “Blaque” means Believing in life achieving a quest for unity in everything. Which is something I personally strive in applying in my every day life especially in this business you must have “Unity”. The MTV part comes from 2 places, being on MTV’s first Hiphop reality show with Diddy making worldwide history, and the other is my name meaning Misty TV drop the ISTY what do you have? MTV, and EMJ has to tell the world what he means my Bevo.
HOW DID YOU TWO MEET AND HOW DID THE SONG COME ABOUT?
Misty Blanco: We met through RaMed Studios located in Jamaica Queens, which is also his management company. I did a blazing interview with them and my artist as well, and I just so happened to come across his music on their page on Instagram and reached out to him because his style of reggae which is unique and overwhelming in feeling and creativity. I always wanted to do a Reggae & rap record. So I had to reach out.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS ARTWORK FOR THIS PARTICULAR SONG? THIS COVER IS SO DEEP ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE IN TUNED WITH THEIR SPIRITUALITY.
Misty Blanco: I can do nothing but say I truly picked it because that’s who I am. With my life being in the Yoruba belief I felt no other spiritual mother could understand my pain but Oshun. When you understand the Yoruba story of Oshun and Ogun then you will know why I chose Oshun & Ogun for my cover.
