Singer Mika Singh has said that actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh can be forgiven if he apologises for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his upcoming movie Sardaar Ji 3. The film has faced backlash ahead of its release, as tensions between India and Pakistan remain high.

Mika had earlier criticised Diljit and called him a “fake singer” for working with a Pakistani artist. Now, in a new Instagram Story, Mika said, “Everyone makes mistakes, but saying sorry can fix a lot. If Diljit apologises and removes the objectionable scenes from the film, we are ready to forgive him. No hate, just respect. Nation first.”

Sardaar Ji 3 is set to release internationally on June 27 and is directed by Amar Hundal. It’s produced by Gunbir Singh Sidhu and Manmord Sidhu of White Hill Studios, along with Story Time Productions.

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) also slammed the film’s team for casting Hania Aamir. The controversy comes after recent terror attacks and military tensions between India and Pakistan, which led to several Pakistani celebrities, including Hania, being blocked on Indian social media platforms.

Mika added that filmmakers should “think twice” before involving artists from Pakistan, especially when the country’s dignity is at stake.
