Chinese actress Liu Yifei celebrated her 39th birthday with a look that quickly caught the attention of fans across social media. Embracing a playful princess-inspired aesthetic, the actress wore a striking mini dress by Vietnamese designer Phan Huy and completed the look with a crown.
Liu shared a series of photographs from her birthday celebration on social media on August 25, and fans were quick to react to her youthful and glamorous appearance. The hashtag “Princess Liu Yifei” soon gained attention on Weibo, with many admirers praising the actress for the fresh and playful birthday look.
The eye-catching dress was previously presented by Phan Huy at Paris Fashion Week. Created primarily using locally sourced materials, the design features intricate tailoring and hand embroidery. Its distinctive silhouette gives the outfit a dynamic appearance and creates movement as the wearer walks.

According to reports, Liu did not need any alterations to the dress, as it fit her perfectly during the very first fitting.
The birthday appearance is another major celebrity moment for Vietnamese designer Phan Huy, whose creations have increasingly attracted the attention of prominent names in Chinese entertainment. Since the beginning of the year, stars including Fan Bingbing, Dilraba Dilmurat, Zhou Ye and Zhao Lusi have also worn his designs for red-carpet appearances and special photoshoots.
At just 27, Phan Huy has already established a growing international presence. Originally from Quang Tri Province in Vietnam, the designer has regularly presented his collections in Paris. His work is known for combining glamorous couture details with romantic storytelling, with collections including Afterglow at Tam Giang Lagoon and Lost in the Cavern. He also unveiled his Fall/Winter 2026–2027 collection in July.

For Liu Yifei, the birthday celebration offered fans another memorable fashion moment from one of China’s most recognisable stars. With an acting career spanning more than two decades, she continues to remain a major name in entertainment and fashion, representing several leading international and Chinese brands.
But this time, it was the combination of a beautifully crafted Vietnamese couture dress and a simple crown that made her birthday look feel especially magical — and gave fans every reason to call her a real-life princess.
