JENNIE Releases FALLEN ANGEL EP With Cinematic New Music Video

The BLACKPINK star returns with a three-track solo release, pairing her new EP with a dramatic video for its title song.

JENNIE has released a new chapter of her solo music career with FALLEN ANGEL, a three-track digital EP that arrived on Friday, August 28.

The BLACKPINK singer announced the release through her own company, Odd Atelier, describing the project as “A gift from JENNIE, with love.” The EP features “FALLEN ANGEL,” “HEAVEN” and “Less Than a Lover.”

Alongside the music, JENNIE has also released a cinematic video for “FALLEN ANGEL,” giving the title track a visual treatment that leans into a darker, almost fairytale-like mood.

The music video is a major part of the release rather than simply an accompaniment to the song. Its dramatic visuals give FALLEN ANGEL a distinct character and add a darker edge to JENNIE’s latest solo work.

The video also includes a safety disclaimer noting that fire appearing in the production was created using visual effects. Scenes involving minors were filmed under appropriate supervision.

That attention to the production is fitting for a project that appears designed to be experienced visually as much as musically.

Unlike JENNIE’s debut solo album Ruby, which arrived as a 15-track project in March 2025, FALLEN ANGEL is a much smaller release.

The three-song format allows the project to feel more focused, with the title track serving as its centrepiece. Rubyestablished JENNIE as a solo artist beyond BLACKPINK, while this new release gives her another opportunity to experiment with the sound and imagery surrounding her individual career.

Her debut album included songs such as “Mantra,” “Love Hangover,” “Like JENNIE” and collaborations with artists including Dua Lipa, Childish Gambino, Kali Uchis and Doechii.

FALLEN ANGEL arrives after a busy period for JENNIE and BLACKPINK.

The group—JENNIE, Jisoo, Rosé and Lisa – returned with their 2026 mini-album Deadline after spending time developing their individual careers. The members have each built substantial solo identities, with Rosé releasing Rosie, Lisa putting out Alter Ego, Jisoo releasing Amortage and JENNIE launching Ruby.

JENNIE’s solo work has also continued to find space alongside her BLACKPINK career. Her earlier releases showed a willingness to move between pop, R&B and more experimental sounds rather than being tied to one musical style.

There is an interesting difference between JENNIE’s first full-length solo album and this new project.

Ruby was expansive, with collaborations and enough tracks to introduce different sides of her musical personality. FALLEN ANGEL, by comparison, is compact. With only three songs, the emphasis falls more heavily on mood, presentation and the identity of the title track.

That makes the music video particularly important. Rather than having to establish an entire album’s range, the release can build its identity around a single visual and musical idea.

JENNIE’s new EP also arrives during a strong period for her international profile. Her previous work has already placed her alongside major global artists, while her BLACKPINK activities continue to keep her among the most visible names in K-pop.

With FALLEN ANGEL, she is once again stepping away from the group format to show audiences what she wants her solo music to sound—and look—like.
