Acclaimed singer-songwriter, musician, and children’s recording artist Doctor Noize has released his latest single and music video, “Funk The Planet,” a vibrant blend of music, humor, and environmental awareness. The track is on his upcoming retrospective album, Positive Energy! (The Music of Doctor Noize), and celebrates creativity, community, and sustainability.
The release is significant as it marks the final song from Doctor Noize’s all-star side project, Konshens & The Earth Band. The group includes rapper and poet Konshens The MC from Washington, D.C., son of hip-hop pioneer Master Gee of The Sugarhill Gang, multi-Grammy Award winner and UN Goodwill Ambassador Ricky Kej from India, and multi-Grammy-winning producer Lonnie Park from New York.
“Funk The Planet” combines hip hop, pop, and uplifting storytelling while delivering a positive call to action for environmental protection. The song balances heart, humor, and energy, encouraging listeners to celebrate the planet and recognize the importance of preserving it for future generations.
The accompanying music video further enhances the message through a creative mix of live-action footage and animation. The video was written and directed by Sidney Cullinan, Doctor Noize’s daughter and a Silver Scholar at the Yale School of Management. Cullinan has earned recognition for directing projects ranging from music videos for Grammy-winning artists to avant-garde productions, consistently bringing a strong artistic vision to her work.
