Avril Lavigne is making headlines once again, but this time not for a chart-topping single or a new tour. The pop-punk icon has stepped into the world of winemaking with the launch of her very own Pinot Noir, aptly named Complicated. Teaming up with California-based Banshee Wines, the star has created a limited-edition release that marries nostalgia, craftsmanship, and purpose.
The name is, of course, a nod to her breakout hit “Complicated,” the song that defined a generation in the early 2000s and cemented her as a voice of youthful rebellion. Much like the track, the wine promises a mix of boldness and subtlety. It’s described as a smooth Pinot Noir layered with flavors of cherry and raspberry, retailing at $30. For now, fans can pick it up exclusively through Banshee Wines’ website or at their tasting room while supplies last.
This collaboration didn’t come out of thin air. Lavigne’s connection with Banshee Wines started during her recent Greatest Hits Tour, where a Banshee bar backstage became something of a tradition. The partnership grew naturally from those late-night gatherings into what has now become a full-fledged product. For fans, it’s a chance to sip a little piece of Lavigne’s world while blasting the soundtrack of their youth.
To make the release even more special, the launch comes with a limited run of “Sip and Spin” kits. Only 50 will be available, each bundling a bottle of Complicated with a record player and a vinyl copy of her 2002 debut album Let Go. It’s a playful crossover of taste and sound, designed to bring fans closer to both her music and her new venture.
But there’s more than just nostalgia and wine behind this project. A portion of the collaboration supports a greater cause. Banshee Wines is donating $10,000 to She Is The Music, an initiative that funds songwriting camps and helps open doors for women in the music industry. It’s a fitting tribute to Lavigne’s role as a trailblazer who broke barriers in her own career.
With Complicated Pinot Noir, Avril Lavigne has managed to create more than just a celebrity wine release. It’s a thoughtful blend of artistry, memory, and social good. For longtime fans and newcomers alike, it’s a reminder that while life can be complicated, sharing a good glass of wine doesn’t have to be.
