Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Stela Cole is on a journey of revival and empowerment, and her latest single, “Midnight Killer”, serves as a testament to her resilience and growth. With an autobiographical narrative filled with healing, Stela’s music transcends mere entertainment, offering listeners a glimpse into her personal evolution.

In “Midnight Killer,” Stela lays bare her experiences of losing herself and subsequently rediscovering her strength. It’s a song about empowerment, about rising from the ashes like a Phoenix, and about reclaiming one’s identity in the face of adversity. Stela shares, “No more sacrificing my character. No more losing myself.” She invites others to join her on this journey of self-discovery and empowerment through her music.

Stela’s path to this point has been marked by both success and struggle. In 2022, she achieved significant milestones, hitting the 1 million monthly listener mark and experiencing her strongest streaming year to date. However, despite outward success, Stela found herself feeling mentally and emotionally apart from herself. Creatively unfulfilled and overwhelmed by the pressures of social media, she decided to take a step back to focus on her mental health and artistic integrity.

The year 2023 became a pivotal period for Stela as she prioritized her well-being, exiting her label deal and disconnecting from social media. Instead of succumbing to the endless scroll, she turned to her guitar, the studio, and her favorite records for inspiration. Working closely with a core group of collaborators, Stela meticulously crafted a sonic world inspired by a diverse range of influences, from Fleetwood Mac to Tame Impala.

Partnering with award-winning director Eliot Lee, Stela embarked on a visual journey to complement her musical evolution. Through a series of music videos and vignettes, she created a cinematic world intricately connected to her revival themes and endless cycles. Each piece of content reflects Stela’s personal and artistic growth, offering viewers a glimpse into her introspective journey.

“Midnight Killer” is not just a song; it’s a declaration of empowerment and self-discovery. With her captivating vocals and introspective lyrics, Stela Cole invites listeners to embrace their own journeys of growth and resilience. As she continues to rise from the ashes, Stela’s music serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for all who dare to embark on the path of self-discovery.
