Sayani Gupta Exposes Shocking Behavior on Set: ‘He Kept Kissing Me After Cut’

Sayani Gupta, the talented actress known for her roles in Margarita with a Straw, Inside Edge, and Four More Shots Please, recently spoke out about the importance of respecting boundaries on set, particularly in intimate scenes. In an emotional interview, she revealed a disturbing experience she had while filming, where a co-actor continued to kiss her even after the director had called “cut.” This unsettling incident shed light on the deeper issues that actresses often face in the industry and the need for a systemic change in how they are treated.

Reflecting on the experience, Sayani Gupta emphasized the vital role of intimacy coordinators in the film industry. These professionals ensure that actors’ boundaries are respected during intimate scenes, maintaining a safe and respectful environment. In recent years, intimacy coordinators have become more common in Western productions, and Sayani believes this practice should be adopted in Bollywood as well. She explained that the presence of such coordinators could have prevented the uncomfortable situation she faced and provided better protection for the actors involved.

Gupta also opened up about another incident that made her feel vulnerable while shooting for Four More Shots Please Season 1. During a scene where she had to lie on a beach in a short dress in front of 70 people, she was left without adequate attention to her comfort or security after the shoot. She recalled hoping that someone would offer her a shawl for warmth, but no one seemed concerned about her safety. This lack of consideration for an actress’s well-being, Sayani pointed out, is a common issue on many sets, where the safety of actors often takes a back seat to the demands of the shoot. “Sometimes, an actress’s security, or anyone’s safety, is the last thing considered,” she remarked, calling for a shift in mindset within the industry.

Despite these challenges, Sayani Gupta continues to make waves with her work. Her recent project, the romantic comedy Khwabon Ka Jhamela, which was released on JioCinema on November 8, has received positive feedback from audiences. While advocating for better working conditions, she remains committed to her craft, using her platform to highlight crucial issues that need to be addressed in the entertainment industry.

Sayani’s candid revelations shed light on the often-overlooked aspects of an actor’s experience, urging for a future where actors can work in an environment that prioritizes their safety, dignity, and comfort. The inclusion of intimacy coordinators and a shift in how boundaries are respected on set is a step toward ensuring a more professional and ethical industry for everyone involved.
