A shocking act of violence has gripped Osceola County, Florida, where a pizza delivery worker allegedly stabbed a pregnant woman 14 times in a brutal attack reportedly triggered by dissatisfaction with a $2 tip. The incident unfolded at a motel, leaving the victim hospitalized and a community in disbelief.
According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, 22-year-old Brianna Alvelo delivered a pizza order to a family celebrating a birthday at a motel. The $33 bill was paid with a $50 note, but Alvelo couldn’t provide change. After searching for smaller denominations, the customer ultimately tipped her $2.
Feeling aggrieved, Alvelo allegedly returned 90 minutes later with a masked accomplice in her red Toyota. Armed with a knife, she stormed into the motel room, where the victim was staying with her boyfriend and 5-year-old daughter. Her accomplice, armed with a gun, shouted commands during the assault.
Security footage captured the pair entering the motel. Inside, Alvelo allegedly began stabbing the woman while the victim tried to shield her daughter. Police reports state the victim was struck in the back and had her phone smashed as she attempted to call for help.
The attackers fled the scene as law enforcement arrived. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition. During her treatment, she learned she was pregnant, adding to the gravity of the situation.
Authorities arrested Alvelo the next day, charging her with attempted murder, home invasion with a firearm, assault, and kidnapping. She is being held without bond at the Osceola County Jail. Her accomplice remains at large, and police are actively seeking information.
The incident has drawn widespread condemnation. Marco’s Pizza, where Alvelo worked, expressed deep regret and pledged full cooperation with authorities.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident that occurred. The local owner and his team are fully cooperating with local authorities, who have launched an investigation into the matter. The safety and well-being of customers and team members are always our top priority, and we are taking this incident very seriously,” the company said in a statement.
This horrifying case has sparked conversations about safety, mental health, and the unpredictable nature of workplace interactions. While Alvelo awaits trial, the victim’s resilience serves as a testament to survival in the face of unimaginable violence.
Authorities continue to search for the masked accomplice, urging anyone with information to come forward. Meanwhile, the community remains shaken, grappling with the senselessness of the crime.
