This development is significant for the more than 24 lakh candidates who appeared for the exam on May 5, 2024. The provisional answer keys, along with recorded responses, can be accessed on the official website of NTA’s NEET portal. Candidates are encouraged to review these materials meticulously as they prepare to challenge any discrepancies they may find.
To contest an answer, candidates must follow the prescribed procedure, including a nonrefundable payment of Rs 200 per question challenged. This payment can be made online via debit card, credit card, or net banking, with a deadline of May 31, 2024, at 11:50 pm. It’s essential to note that challenges without accompanying payment will not be considered. Once submitted, all challenges will undergo scrutiny by a panel of subject experts. Should a challenge be deemed valid, the answer key will be revised accordingly for all candidates.
Moreover, candidates have the option to dispute the OMR grading by paying a similar processing fee of Rs 200 per questioned response. The deadline for raising objections against any answer key or recorded response is also May 31, 2024. To aid candidates in this process, the NTA has dispatched scanned images of the OMR answer sheets to their registered email addresses provided during the application submission.
It’s worth emphasizing that NEET UG 2024 was conducted across 4,750 centers in 571 cities across India, including 14 cities outside the country. For candidates eager to assess their performance, the NTA has provided access to the provisional answer key through multiple platforms, including exams.nta.ac.in/NEET and neet.ntaonline.in.
