Megan Thee Stallion appears to be ready to begin her next musical chapter. The Grammy-winning rapper has teased her long-awaited Act III project, giving fans the strongest indication yet that new music could arrive later this year.
On Monday, August 10, Megan shared a series of new images on Instagram and X featuring the words “I’m back” prominently displayed. Another image appeared to reference Act III, immediately sparking excitement among fans who have been waiting for the next instalment of her Act series.
The upcoming project follows Act II, which was released in October 2024 as a deluxe edition of Megan’s self-titled album Megan. The project included the single “Neva Play,” her collaboration with BTS member RM, which reached No. 36 on the Billboard Hot 100.
While Megan has yet to announce an official release date for Act III, she previously confirmed that she intended to release the project in 2026. In January, she told People that she was completing the album and that the music would arrive during the year, while asking her fans, known as the Hotties, for a little more patience.
Megan has kept busy during the wait. Last year, she released the singles “Whenever” and “Lover Girl,” although it remains unclear whether either song will appear on Act III. This year, she has primarily appeared as a featured artist, including on Juvenile’s “B.B.B.” and the remix of BossMan Dlow’s “Motion Party.”
The rapper has also continued expanding her work beyond music. In 2026, she appeared in Chandler Levack’s Roommates and joined the cast of the NBC comedy The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins. She also made her Broadway debut in March as part of the cast of Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
For now, details surrounding Act III remain limited. Megan has not revealed a tracklist, cover, lead single or confirmed release date. However, her latest “I’m back” message suggests that the next phase of her career may be getting closer.
If Act III does arrive this year as previously promised, it will mark Megan Thee Stallion’s return to the centre of the music conversation following a period that has seen her explore acting, theatre and collaborations while working on her next full project.
