The on-field spat between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir after Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Lucknow Super Giants has triggered all the headlines since yesterday. Both Kohli and Gambhir had a heated argument post the match, and the situation got so worse players like Amit Mishra and K L Rahul had to intervene to keep their cool.

On the other hand, both Kohli and Gambhir are fined 100 per cent of their fees after violating IPL’s Code of Conduct. The LSG bowler Naveen was fined 50% of his match fees. Post the match when the players were shaking hands, Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq was seen talking to Kohli that didn’t seem friendly at all.

“Lucknow Super Giants’ Mentor Gautam Gambhir has been fined 100 per cent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Mr Gambhir admitted to the Level 2 offence under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct,” said BCCI, in a media release.

The release added that “Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Virat Kohli has been fined 100 per cent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. Mr Kohli admitted to the Level 2 offence under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct”.
