HI ERIM! THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO CHAT WITH US! CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF, WHO IS ERIM KAUR IN YOUR OWN WORDS?
ERIM: I am a fashion Influencer as well as the Founder of ByErim, a luxury haircare brand specialising in oil.
RITIKA: YOU ALWAYS TREND ON INSTAGRAM, HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE SO POPULAR?
ERIM: As I have been on Instagram for the last 3-4 years, I have been able to adjust over the years. Sometimes posts do well and sometimes they don’t but I truly just enjoy uploading and engaging with my little community in my comments/DMs!
RITIKA: WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO GIVE CREDIT TO FOR YOUR SUCCESS?
ERIM: My Dad – he has always supported my career decisions and given me the freedom to explore all options I wish to pursue, be it a degree in business, TikTok, to starting my own company.
RITIKA: WHO IS THAT ONE PERSON OR EVENT THAT HAS INFLUENCED YOUR GROWTH THE MOST AND HOW?
ERIM: I had a meeting with a PR contact from a makeup company and she gave me some great advice on how to change my feed to improve my growth and collaborations and it changed the game for me! I focused less on my overall ‘theme’ and more on putting my personality at the forefront of my content.
RITIKA: WHAT IS THAT ONE THING THAT YOU ALWAYS KEEP IN YOUR MIND WHILE PREPARING YOUR CONTENT?
ERIM: There’s so many things to consider! The outfit, lighting, location, brand collab, makeup etc. the list is endless! The main thing that can make or break a photo however, is lighting. That is probably most important to me.
RITIKA: THERE ARE MANY WHO ASPIRE TO BE LIKE YOU, WHAT WOULD BE YOUR ADVICE FOR THEM?
ERIM: IT’s a marathon not a sprint. Take time to grow your brand from the ground up and make sure you have a message/morals to what you’re doing.
RITIKA: WHAT DO YOU DO TO GROW YOUR PERSONAL BRAND?
ERIM: Make sure I have a consistent message across all touchpoints – email, IG, TikTok, real-life etc.
