    JAEA – Singer-Songwriter based in Los Angeles, California to release her newest single “Bad Bitch” on September 5th!

    HEY JAEA! THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO CHAT WITH US! CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF, WHO IS JAEA IN YOUR OWN WORDS?
    In a way, you could say I’m still trying to find out. I like to think of myself as a normal woman going through normal life things, but others would beg to differ. Life is a little crazy sometimes but I always make sure I have ahold of myself. I appreciate simple things while still enjoying the finer ones. I’ve been sad, heartbroken, a little doubtful, but who hasn’t right? I found my way to be happy, confident, and more powerful and I guess that’s what I want to share with others.

    HOW DID YOU FIRST START MAKING MUSIC?
    Music has been very prominent in my life, from a young age music was instilled into me by my grandparents. They met in music and playing and singing in a family band they had. I’ve always had a knack for it but I started writing my own songs and playing them on my guitar or saxophone when I was a teenager.

    WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING PROJECT. WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RECORD IT?
    It is the very first time I was able to have creative control of an entire project. My inspiration stems from my own life. I wanted to record something that was real. I wanted the listener to hear my story and relate to it. To get inspired to chase their own dreams, to fight their battles, to see themselves in a new light.

    TELL US MORE ABOUT THE MEANING BEHIND THE TITLE “BAD BITCH” AND TALK US THROUGH YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS.
    Bad bitch was basically an epiphany I had within myself… here I was all my life, playing the nice girl…because that’s what people expect from you. I wanted to be a little bad for once. Maybe something we all feel at one point or another. Instead of caring about what others thought, I did what I wanted for a change.

    @jaealive

    WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU LISTEN TO?
    I listen to all types, I love oldies, house, alternative, hip hop, pop, the list goes on. If it sounds good I will most likely have it on my playlist. My absolute favorite genre of music is 90s Rnb, that’s the kind of music that inspires me, its sexy, seductive, and assertive.

    WHAT WAS THE EVENT THAT HAS INFLUENCED YOUR MUSICAL CAREER THE MOST?
    I think taking the leap to move to Los Angeles. I literally left my friends, my family, with their full support to pursue my music. I believed in myself they believed in me. I haven’t focused on anything else since and it has pushed my music career forward in tremendous ways.

    ONE CAREER ADVICE YOU COULD GIVE TO OUR READERS.
    Stay focused, patient, and take extra steps. More work can also mean better outcomes. Nothing great is done in a hurry. You never get to know yourself more than when you only have yourself and your dream.
