The wait is over. Independent hip-hop’s newest storyteller, Gilchrist Rello, has officially entered the chat with his debut EP, All I Am. Available now on all streaming platforms, this five-track project isn’t just a collection of songs—it’s a victory lap for an artist who beat the odds to find his voice.

Forget everything you think you know about debut projects. All I Am is raw, it’s real, and it’s ready to shake up your playlist. Featuring the tracks “All I Am,” “I Was,” “Devil Talks,” “Miss The High,” and “Jack Frost,” this EP is a front-row seat to an artist baring his soul.

Gilchrist Rello’s path to the mic is anything but ordinary. This was a man built for the gridiron—a football player from Bowling Green State University with eyes on the NFL. But when life threw a blitz of personal struggles, loss, and pandemic-era chaos, those dreams got buried in the dirt.

So, he did what any competitor would do: he pivoted.

What started as casual freestyles—encouraged by his cousin, Zay Finale—quickly turned into an obsession. “I figured out I was pretty good at this,” Rello laughs. Fast forward through grief, substance battles, and a chance meeting with his now-manager Kevin, and that hobby has become a full-blown second act. And what a debut it is.

Make no mistake—All I Am isn’t trying to be a polished, radio-ready product. It’s better than that. It’s a time capsule. It captures the exact moment a man decided to stop hiding from his demons and start rapping about them.

“It’s amateurish compared to where I’m at now,” Rello admits with a confidence that only comes from growth. “But this is my introduction. This is me finally telling the truth.”

And the truth hits hard. “Devil Talks” and “Miss The High” dive headfirst into the darker chapters of his life, tackling substance use and temptation with a visceral honesty. The title track, “All I Am,” is a reflective anthem about identity, while “I Was” serves as a powerful eulogy for the person he used to be. Closing out the vibe is “Jack Frost,” a track that adds depth and dimension to a remarkably strong debut.

This is just the opening round.

Gilchrist Rello is already back in the lab, sharper and more hungry than ever. All I Am is the warning shot—a promise that this former athlete is playing for keeps.
