An elderly Swedish national has been arrested for allegedly molesting and abusing an air hostess on an IndiGo flight from Bangkok to Mumbai. The accused, identified as Klas Erik H. J. Westberg, 63, was reportedly inebriated and demanded seafood during meal time, which was not available on the flight.
When the crew served him chicken and asked him to pay with his card, he allegedly caught the air hostess’s hand and later molested her in front of other passengers. When another crew member tried to intervene, the accused hurled abuses and even hit another passenger on the next seat.
The flight captain was alerted, and after landing, the IndiGo security staff and CISF took charge of him and handed him over to the Sahar Airport Police Station. Westberg was produced before the Andheri Metropolitan Court and released on bail of Rs 20,000. The police are investigating the matter.
