Rising Welsh alt-pop artist Aderyn has released her energetic new single Cross Your Mind, the first track taken from her upcoming EP Hot Pink!, set to arrive in June 2026. Packed with attitude, catchy hooks, and shimmering indie-pop energy, the track further cements Aderyn’s growing reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting alternative pop voices.
Blending elements of indie rock, alternative pop, and riot grrrl-inspired edge, Cross Your Mind delivers a confident and playful take on lingering post-breakup emotions. The Bristol-based artist, also known as Lisa Martin, channels both humour and swagger throughout the track, creating a song that feels bold, vibrant, and unapologetically fun.
Speaking about the single, Aderyn explained that the song explores the feeling of instinctively knowing you still occupy space in someone’s thoughts, whether they admit it or not. One lyric in particular — “strutting in my thigh high glitter boots” — became especially personal to her, reflecting the sparkly stage presence fans have come to associate with her live performances.
She added that writing the song allowed her stage persona to completely take over creatively. The image of confidently stomping through an ex’s mind became the driving inspiration behind the track’s playful energy and self-assured tone.
The release has already been earning praise, with BBC Introducing’s Adam Walton describing it as “every era of perfect pop music all in one song.”
Cross Your Mind also offers listeners a first glimpse into the sonic world of Hot Pink!, Aderyn’s sophomore EP. The upcoming project is described as an emotional journey through heartbreak, modern relationships, and self-reflection, moving across genres and moods with sharp lyricism and infectious melodies.

The EP opens with Please, a moody grunge-influenced track inspired by the dreamy atmosphere of Mazzy Star, exploring themes of one-sided devotion and emotional vulnerability. Another standout, Feel Nothing!, dives into modern situationships through fuzzy punk instrumentation and retro-inspired backing vocals. The closing track, Victorians, leans fully into heartbreak and emotional release over a looping Casio drum beat.
Originally from a sheep farm in the Brecon Beacons, Aderyn began her musical journey as a drummer in a grunge band before stepping into the spotlight as a solo alt-pop artist. Over the years, she has built a strong following in the UK indie scene and has been dubbed “Cardiff’s Queen of Indie Pop” by Radar Magazine.
Her growing momentum has been supported by initiatives such as the BBC Horizons Project, the PRS Momentum Accelerator Fund, and the Welsh Music Prize Triskel Award. She has also received national radio support from BBC Radio 1 Future Alternative, BBC 6 Music, Radio X, and KEXP.
Fans can catch Aderyn live tonight at The Finsbury in London, followed by another performance at CWRW in Carmarthen on May 22.
With Cross Your Mind, Aderyn continues to showcase her signature blend of witty songwriting, indie grit, and sparkling alt-pop charm, setting the stage for what could be her biggest release yet: Hot Pink!
