Actor Aamir Khan has announced a pay-per-view model for his latest release, Sitaare Zameen Par, which will soon start streaming on YouTube. The spiritual sequel to the 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par will be exclusively available on YouTube in India at ₹100 from August 1.
“For the past 15 years I have been struggling with the challenge of how to reach audiences who do not have geographical access to theatres… With YouTube being on most devices, we can finally reach vast sections of people in India, and a significant part of the world,” said Aamir Khan.

Directed by R.S. Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par released in theatres on June 20. The 60-year-old actor confirmed that his film will not be available on OTT platforms. The superstar highlighted the difference between the pay-per-model and the subscription model.
“There is a great difference between the pay-per-view model and the subscription model. When I release a film after 8 weeks on a subscription model, people aren’t buying my film. They’re only subscribing to the OTT platform. It wouldn’t matter if someone wants to watch it or doesn’t by then,” added Aamir Khan.
